Hello friends!
I had a great time at last nights Tiny Kingdom Records launch party here in Vancouver. The Biltmore never fails to deliver great sound, and the venue was packed. I was blown away by Sadie Campbell -What a Vocal! That and her guitarists Strat were an undeniable combination.
The Wooden Horsemen performed a swampy, bluesy set, a bit more laid back than their usual sound. I couldn’t take my eyes or ears off of them. It was completely captivating and transcendent.
Andrew Phelan performed a compelling set – Sarah Fawcet, (Red on Black Music) nailed it when she quoted “[Andrew] Phelan has a sleeper of a voice-the kind that can lull one moment, and knock you back with its power the next”.
I had the opportunity to catch up with some other incredible local talent and congratulate the gals of Tiny Kingdom Records on their successful launch. Overall, fantastic night. It is incredibly inspiring to throw myself in to the surrounding of such talent and supportive humans. If you are ever feeling down or uninspired, I suggest you do the same. Motivate yourself to go to an event or gathering of some sort, with talented, hard working people, and find comfort in knowing that you are all going through, or have gone through the same thing. You’re all working hard to follow your dreams. There is much blood, sweat and tears, but at the end of the day, it is so, so worth it. Not only just for yourself, but the affect you can have on others with your art cannot be matched by anything else in this world.
So keep on, keeping on. Allow yourself to go through the motions, and do not fret when you fall. You will pick yourself up again, and you will continue to move forward. Fuel your drive with love and inspiration from others and from within yourself. You got this darling. <3
