Hey guys!

Pretty excited, City Lights has received a great review by a very talented writer, Liz Coffey, (Rochester, NY) of UMusicians! You can check it out here:

Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Jodi Pederson has made a name for herself covering some of the most popular pop songs from recent years. She recorded her first album in Toronto at the age of seventeen before touring across Canada and Australia. Returning to the studio, her sound changed from pop to a more complex alt-pop/indie vibe. She now represents herself in all aspects of her creative process: writing, producing, performing and managing herself.

“City Lights” starts out with light music, while Pederson’s vocals hit you full force. She has a powerful and unique voice that catches your attention straight away. However, with the synth and other instrumentals in the background, her voice gets a bit overpowered during the chorus. It has a nice beat, and it’s definitely a great song to sing along to. It’s catchy, if a bit repetitive. My favorite lyrics from the song are “Dancing through the streets we wander, falling for the fire. Burning at the heart, throwing hands up to the sky.” The entire song pays homage to her hometown, and it’s about feeling alive and loving where you are at the moment.

Overall, “City Lights” is a great single, and I encourage people to check out her covers and other music. Jodi Pederson has an amazingly soulful voice that I believe will take her very far in this industry. You can find her on social media below.
